The Rihanna Express or The Carribean Queen

Was known as The Carribean Queen

   Rihanna was born in a county in Barbados called St. Michael. She lived a life as a normal island girl.  Rihanna won numerous beauty pageants. Until a friend introduced her to Evan Rodgers, a producer from New York who was in Barbados for a vacation.  Rodgers arranged for her to go to New York to meet Jay-Z, CEO of Def Jam Records.  She was 16 when she was signed to Def Jam. Since then, she's amassed phenomenal success.

 Her controversial music video for "S and M" was banned in 11 countries within a day of it's release.
S and M become her 10th No 1 song on Billboard Hot 100.

Grand Funk Railroads legacy on pop music began in 1969 out of Flint, Michigan The group’s influence and staying power are shown.Through artists like Prince naming his first rock band Grand Central in reference to Grand Funk Railroad.There Mega-hits like "We’re An American Band," "I’m Your Captain/Closer To home," "Locomotion," and "Some Kind Of Wonderful" still receive continuous airplay on Classic Rock radio.

Singer Max Carl, lead guitarist Bruce Kulick who had a good stint with KISS and credits with Michael Bolton, Meatloaf and Billy Squire. While keyboardist Tim Cashion has been with artists like Bob Seger and Robert Palmer.
